Declan Treanor

Declan grew up in Dublin, moving to England in 1975 where career opportunities were much brighter. Following a successful 30+ years in financial services, he spent a year travelling before investing in Arena Travel in 2012. This led to great personal satisfaction in developing bridge holidays and in turn learning to play the game.

Hosting style

Declan is a people person and enjoys meeting new and regular guests on bridge holidays. He explains “We often get people having their first holiday as a single after many years and it is important to help them feel part of a group. Then we can all complain about the cards we got and missing that extra trick!”

Other hobbies and interests

Exploring new destinations with enough time to see below the veneer. Live performance be it theatre, opera, dance or music but not immersive – “I am not there to entertain”.
